Study is life-long, isn’t it? I worked in the corporate social responsibility (CSR) industry for five years after my degree graduation. I am happy to see that more companies are investing on environmental monitoring and pollution control in their CSR programmes. Observing this trend, I have decided to pick up my school bag and study the environmental science program. I believe this move will help me better serve the society through assisting retailers and banks to have environmental-friendly business practices.

The Swire’s scholarship allows me to concentrate on study and makes the most out of this precious year. The study in AU has a high quality. The majority of staffs in the department are leading scientists in their fields. They know the subject matters and research frontiers. They teach well through varied teaching styles and field trips. The schoolmates are international and nice. I can make a number of genuine friendships. It is hard to pick a bad thing from this year. If I must have to pick, I will choose frequent rains as most people experience in UK. (As per a teaching staff from AU, Scotland got 20% more rain due to changed rainfall pattern resulted from global warming. More rain in Scotland means flooding while less rain in somewhere else may mean drought and desertification. Folks, let’s protect the earth!) Last but not least, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Swire Educational Trust for its generous support on the scholarship. It is a great positive footprint on my life!
